TO ALL CHRISTIAN PEOPLE<GREETINGS......Know ye that i Catharine Nixon of the Township of Hardwick in the County of Sussex & State of New Jersey,being of perfect mind & memory this twelfth day of July 1786 one thousand seven hundred& eighty six thanks be given to Almighty God & knowing it is appointed for all Once to dye, I thought it proper to make this my last will & Testament.I commend my soul to God that gave it.I commend my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian manner by my Executors herein after named hopeing to receive the same at the General Ressurection by the Almighty Power of God First it is my will that all my funeral charges& just debts be paid Item I give unto my two sons Allen Nixon and Patrix Nixon each one a feather bed also the sum of five pounds a piece to each of them more than their equal share with the next & the next of all my Estate to be equally divided amongst my seven children that is to say,MaryCourson,William Nixon, Grace Field, JohnNixon, Mary (Elizabeth should be) Man Allen Nixon & Patrix Nixon & I do hereby constitute & appoint my two sons Allen Nixon & Patrick Nixon my Executors of this last will & Testament & I do utterly revoke all other wills or former testaments to be void & of no effect & this only to be my Will & Testament As Witness my hand & Seal the day & Year above written.

WILLS: Robert Wynne of Jordan's Paris, Charles City County in Virginia,
Gent., dated July 1st 1675, probated August 15th 1678. To be buried in
Jordan's Church as near as possible to my son, Robert. My estate in
England to be divided as follows: To my eldest son, Thomas Wynne one
farm in Whitestaple Parish in Kent near Canterbury commonly called
Limbet Banckes, if he died to my son, Joshua, and if he died, to my
daughter Woodlief. To my son Thomas two houses in Canterbury in St.
Mildres's Parish in the same form as the said farm. To my youngest son,
Joshua Wynne, one house and Oatmeal mill lying the Drover Lane without
St. Georges in Canterbury, commonly called Lilly Pot; and two houses
adjoining where a Ropemaker and one Rawlings were formerly tenants.
Touching my estate in Virginia, to my son Thomas all the cattle of his
own mark except one cow called Moll which is to be killed for
provisions. To my son Joshua my plantation called Georges with all the
tobacco houses. To my daughter Woodlief one servant of four years to
serve the next shipping after my decease. To my grandchild and godson,
George Woodlief one filly foal. All the rest of my estate in Virginia
and England to my wife and executrix Mary Wynne. Overseers: Thomas
Grendon, Merchant, and my son-in-law, Captain Francis Poythress.

**Notes for COLONEL ROBERT WYNNE: Robert Wynne was born 1622 and was baptized at St. Dunstans in Canterbury. He arrived in Virginia in 1651,and had a 600-acre plantation south of the James named "Georges". (12 headrights). He was granted to keep two Indians for service. Mary (Frances Sloman?) was the widow of Francis Poythress (whose son John married Christian Pebbles and granddaughter Mary married John Woodlief IV). Note that two men named John Sloman are among the 12 listed for Robert Wynne's headrights. Robert was speaker of the House of Burgesses during the Long Parliament, 1662-1674 and lived in Jordans Parish, Charles City County and owned much property in England (5 houses, a farm, and a mill). In his will, dated 7/1/1675, Robert Wynne, (who died in 1678) left land in England to eldest son and his plantation to Joshua; he left daughter Woodlief a servant of four years and left granson and godson George Woodlief one filly foal.
